Abstract
«Critica Fascista» was one of the richest forums in the economic debate of the fascist regime. Through the articles of the magazine directed by Giuseppe Bottai, this short article aims to retrace the debate «Rome and Moscow or old Europe?», in which in the early 1930s several thinkers expressed their attention towards the communist model for its anti-capitalistic role, arousing criticism and interesting response. In the same way, Ugo Spirito’s writings on the «corporazione proprietaria» will allow room for accusations against the philosopher whilst providing food for thought on a social level. Such a debate highlights a striking evidence of a non-trivial cultural climate and of the genuinely revolutionary aspirations of many protagonists of the time, within the framework of the aspirations of the totalitarian fascists.

Keywords: Corporatism, Liberalism, Fascism, Communism, Fordism.
